Welcome to Arabian Breeders Network
Pegasus Park
PEGASUS PARK was born in 1965 with the purchase of MAZAAL #8550 (Alyf x Maazza) from the Kellogg Ranch. Today, PEGASUS PARK continues to breed the Crabbet/Maynesboro/Kellogg (CMK) Arabian and the CMK/cross, focusing on these excellent bloodlines as a basis for the future. With the stellar CMK heritage of performance, disposition, type and style, our horses can perform in many disciplines and be enjoyed by all members of the family. They are true promoters for our Arabian breed.

Hi everyone,

There is an owner here in town that needs to sell her 4 year old eygptian filly. I am not too aware of eygptian lines and I need your opinion on her. She is only asking $500 and either way I am going to pick her up just to give her a home but I would like opinions from someone who knows the lines. Her registered name is TCR Sangria. www.allbreedpedigree.com

Thanks,
Lara

I think she has some nice lines for how young she is (this being as I like to see the old ones such as Ibn Halima, Shaikh Al Badi etc.....up close in the pedigree) but from the pictures I am not a fan of her croup it appears steep to me almost goose rumped and her neck is set on low for my tastes but it could just be the pictures they can really fool you sometimes. I would see her in person before I would commit but for $500 she is worth a gamble on.

She has well known sires in her pedigree. I really like her damline going to Hemmat,Malikah and Faaraa. No holes in the pedigree.
I agree with coup being steep but the faults she does have can be correted when bred to the right stallion. Also she is only four yrs old and some of the bloodlines in her pedigree are slow to grow.
For the price I would get her.

The croup is a characteristic of Mohamed breeding... It tends to be prevailent in the line and very distinct for many generations... The upside is that although the croup may not be the best... His attributes such as amazing movement and type offset the fault... The mare is also Hadban Strain which tend to be somewhat post legged... Like Nazeer, they are good racers and fast, but can break down with hard endurance type work.. She would be good for trails just not a 50 to 100 mile hard ride.... Depending on how you plan to use her and she should be a nice horse.. Just remember if you choose to breed her look for a good hind quarter in her mate... Tracy

while her topline might not be the best, but in my opinion this mare is far from being post legged - post legged horses have no bend to their hocks - see alot of QH halter horses for good examples of what post legged is. She does appear to stand a little underneath, but this might be one of those "moment in time" photos. She does appear to be a little high hocked which might make it harder to use her rear end but she does have a deep hip which should give alot of power from behind. I agree her neck looks a little set on low and without alot of shape at this point, but at her age she can change alot in the next couple of years and she's really just standing there punking around... she also appears to have some good substance and heartgirth on her. Well worth the $500 gamble. smile.gif

Unfortunately I will not be able to purchase this filly because my husband broke his finger last night playing soccer, so know I have to put my horse money into his medical bill. If anyone else in the Idaho area would like to pick her up here is the link. http://boise.craigslist.org/grd/746340840.html
She is planning on taking her to the auction on Saturday and I really hate to see arabians go to the sale because they rarely get picked up around here.
