It has come to the point that I need to place this great little stallion.
I have had him available for sale, free lease, and now trying to find him a new home.
He is not in danger of anything but I do need to find a home for him with someone that is knowledgable of stallions.

He is green broke under saddle, is a bit a hard keeper, not hard to handle but can be a bit a handfull at times. No bad habits except he is a stall walker (not weaver).

I don't have a problem if someone wants to take him and geld. I would do that except I just don't have the funds to do it.

Full disclosure comes with this boy, along with lots of questions and requiring references.

Wow that is a great opportunity for someone wanting a Black PP stallion. His bloodlines are terrific and will cross well onto all kinds of blood.
Pedigree: http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/black+streak
I agree someone should take him and breed him for sure as it would be a shame to loose such great blood but maybe he would appeal to someone more being a gelding? So if someone is looking for that great Black gelding then look no further - he is already trained under saddle and iam sure with some more work could be shown or used for trail riding, endurance etc. I do hope he gets a really great home Amber. Best of luck to you!!!!!

Thanks Sue.

He would most certainly make an awesome performance horse with more training. I even toyed with the idea of endurance with him, I just never had the time to put more training on him. This horse may be small in stature but has a LARGER than life attitude.

I am having to reduce my herd to 3 horses and as I am no longer breeding Arabians (or any of my mares), the only Arab I am keeping is a mare for my daughter.

I really hope you can find a good place for him. He's of the same mare family as my four year old mare I've raised since birth, and it is a wonderful line for sporthorse endeavors. I can tell he has the same supple movement that is just awesome for dressage as my girl! I've seen video of him moving, and he's just lovely - I wish a pony breeder would pick him up. I wish you the best - and I'm sorry I can't be of help way the heck over here in AZ!! My horse budget is kaput since I decided to work very part time and stay home with my toddler.

I just wanted to add in good luck for you! I was the one who emailed you a while back about Caliente... how she's the *only* horse I've been able to find directly related to my first horse - Roeds The-Duke - and how much she looks like him.

I would try to help you out, but I currently have my hands full with the stallion (now gelding) I adopted through someone here a while back. There would be people killing me all around - from my husband to the nice folks at the barn I board that let me bring a stallion there in the beginning - if I showed up with another stallion... or any other horse, for that matter :/

I'll ask around, though. I believe there are some Arabian breeders/enthusiasts around my area.

This awesome little stallion is still available. Just had his feet done, current on coggins, worming ect.
Feel free to ask questions about him.

Your stallion has an amazing, unique, unusual pedigree. Size is of no importance, his sire line Celebes was a small horse too, and one of the most important polish sires of the post-war era.

His sire's dam line has Arfa, full sister to Bask, and his dam carries two lines to daughter's of Bask. The old adage, breed back to the best of the dam's sire, in this case, Arfa was re-united with her full brother Bask, through two of his daughters in Black Streaks dam.

His bottom tail female Norma, daughter of Hardy, in combination with Celebe's granddam Saga, daughter of Hardy brings sex balanced Gazella II into the pedigree, always an upgrade in the pedigree.

Black Streak is a perfectly bred stallion to breed to all the prolific Bask bred mares out there who get their Bask through a son rather than a daughter. Black Streak with his two daughters of Bask would result in sex-balanced Bask breeding, something sorely needed if one wishes to continue the influence of Bask in a pedigree.

Wish he were on the west coast, I'de sent my too much sons of Bask pedigreed mare to him in a minute.

I sincerely wish the best for Black Streak.

Jeff

I hope someone sees Jeffs commentary as Ive always agreed size is not that important when a horse is bred to outsire himself like this guy.

Good luck placing him, he is very nice!!

I trained on of Black Streaks fillies here in FL and she is a love. The Boss Mare in her herd at home but she really takes care of her youth rider! The "filly", now a mare, is big bodied and has a nice head too. I am tall and not skinny & that horse carried me for hours thru muck and mud on a trail ride, never put a foot wrong. I would take Streak myself but I have 2 stallions and it's a chore. I hope he finds the right person. biggrin.gif
