So I ride in my AP English saddle all the time. I have never been able to get used to a western saddle. I think it is uncomfortable doing a lot of trotting with my regular English stirrup irons, so I am looking into getting new stirrups that will fit English leathers. Any recomendations for endurance stirrups that will fit English leather? I found these (see link). What do you guys think of them? The main thing I notice is that they are cheaper than other endurance stirrups I have seen. So I am not sure how the quality is and if they are going to last.

Thanks in advance!!!

might work, certainly look cool and are plenty cheap enough. most of the endurance stirrups are available for different size leathers including english. i like riding my sprengers with my wintec endurance (built alot like an ap but more weather and swim proof) but those floating bed sprengers cost near $200 for the pair.

these are so interresting i may get a pair to try and play with. wonder how the pretty color will hold up after a couple dozen tree crashes.

check www.longridersgear.com that's where i look first for my distance riding equipment they support our rides well.

My status

I used to hang my endurance stirrups on my Stuebben all purpose saddle. I even rode with them in my dressage lessons. I have arthritis, and the regular stirrups really bothered me at that time. I think they now have endurance stirrups made to fit english leathers. ( I had to add spacers to the stirrups to keep the leathers in the middle. )

I can not reccomend these enough.......

I use them on my English style endurance saddles and my western ones. They come in different widths to accomodate what style saddle you have.......

They are called EZ Ride. I have not tried the knock offs, so will not comment.

I swear by these..

Also the folks at Sport Tack have THE best customer service ever!!!!!

I second the recomendation for EZ Ride stirrups. I used them with my dressage saddle I used for a bit and now have them on my endurance saddle. And Sport Tack is great!

I use EZ rides on my dressage saddles that I compete in endurance in. I have used both the plastic type and the aluminum, and have decided I like the plastic better- simply because it doesn't crack your shin as much when saddling and unsaddling - LOL!

If you order them, you just want to make sure that you order the correct width of the top bar- usually 1 " for English.

Plastic for me next time.........I thought I was the only one cracking my shin with the darn aluminum stirrups.
Maybe they should put a warning label on them......

Thanks for all of your responses!

The plastic EZ rides come in the smallest size as 1.5". I measured my stirrup leathers last night and they were just a tad over an inch
(1 2/16"). Do you think they will be shifting around in 1.5"? I guess I really have no choice bc 1" would be too small.

1.5" should be fine. You definitely don't want smaller than your leathers. You jus also don't want the 3" size biggrin.gif
