A wee bit about Fiona
I’m an Equine artist, and I specialize in the Arabian horse. I have been blessed to have observed and studied and painted Arabians for years. My favorite paintings to create are of the horse in motion. Tossing their heads, galloping, rearing, snorting and blowing, tails flagged and the wind whipping their manes.

Hi All!

I have a Half-Arabian gelding sired by Periaptor. I knew my guy's dam and have read great things about his sire, but have no idea what he looks like. Might anyone have some pictures of Periaptor to share?

Thanks!

Jen

Jen, I looked for over an hour yesterday for pictures of him on the internet and didn't find anything for you. I have to say, he produced some very nice horses, and I'm not a saddlebred person! Is there anyway you can find out who owned him last and contact them?

Thanks for looking! I have tried a couple of times and couldn't find any either, glad to hear it wasn't just me smile.gif. I thought about contacting ASHA, they have always been really helpful and should be able to tell me who his owners were if they don't have something themselves. If I manage to track down some pictures I will be sure to share.

Thanks again!

Jen

I would like to see pictures if you find any. He really does have some pretty babies out there. I think I read somewhere that he is also the 2nd top producer for performance saddlebreds. Correct me if I'm wrong

I found this on him...

"...Periaptor has 481 registered get, 96 KSF ribbon winners with 236 ribbons (1st-8th), 5 CHs, and 73 futurity ribbon winners."

and on his listing on Allbreedpedigree.com it says...

"He is the first stallion in ASHA history to sire 3 two-yr-old World Champions in one year! PERIAPTOR was an exciting 5-gaited performer himself, undefeated 3 years in the stallion stake at the American Royal. Now rated 1 American Saddlebred breeding stallion for 2006."

The first quote was on ASHA's website, so I would think it is legit, but since anyone can enter info on allbreedpedigree I don't know if it is or not.
