Dear Members,


Every so often we send out an email, mostly they are just "Hello Members, here is what's going on." We try to include everyone and keep you up to date on what is happening at ABN. As I was thinking about the two year anniversary theme, I really kept going back to some of the great things I have witnessed on ABN.

We have had a few members who have completely redefined themselves. Starting new businesses, enhancing their current programs with new websites, promoting their programs, the list is almost endless.

ABN has, with great member support, stayed focused on the idea of the P.A.S.S system we originally launched. But it has really grown into a community where I personally look for support, strength and direction. ABN has helped me grow as a person, I no longer look at the Arabian horse industry the way I once did. I have been able to see the "tree" and found that each branch has something to offer. Not only my involvement in the Arabian horse world, but in all facets of my life I feel I have grown as a person.

I would love to have each member contribute to our anniversary celebration by sharing your story for our newsletter coming out soon. It would be an honor to feature you, our members, for all to see.

Dean, I would love to do this, should I email it to you or post here? This is also my chance to say thank you to you & to ABN for giving me a place to come to when things are tough, a place to share sorrows & happiness with people I have grown very fond of though I've never met them. A place that has given me a chance to, as you said, reinvent myself & to start over & clean out the dust & dirt of the past. I have learned so much from all of you here & I just wanted to let you all know how grateful I am to each one of you for the shoulder to lean on, the kick in the a** & the cut the crap & move on I have gotten at various times.
Dean, you have created a very special place in the arabian world & I am so very glad you did. Do I email you my story for the newsletter? I would be honored to be a part of it.

I have met some very wondrful people who have turned into some of the greatest friends I have ever had in my life. The first person who really "pushed" me into training an outside horse without the help of my dear mentor, is Stacy...aka Mora's Girl...She is the one who saw the talant and patience in me to train a horse then she backed it up with sending me her mare, Katia. I know I am a wonderful trainer and she was the one to re-affirm that. Honestly, I was wondering why she would want me and I was a bit nervous about taking on an outside horse...but she wasn't worried at all. That training adventured turned out to be some kind of wonderful...I have been getting inquiries from ABN-ers about how much I charge....kinda nice! Stacy is just a fabulous person. She is always there for me whenever I need someone's ear to talk off or a shoulder to lean on..that is, when she's not working...lol
The second crazy folk is no other than that Mary Lisa...aka Cyclone, Co Co, Cy..ko...tic...and so on...She has been a shoulder to lean and an ear to blab to as well. Now she, too, is entrusting me with something that is very dear to her...an animal...not JUST any animal, but the pure Polish stallion, Vezanka...Zonk. I guess I will be back in the breeding business with the help of my friends.
Then there's the gentle old man, Roger aka Sandhills. Now I must apologize to him because it was I, yes I, that got him hooked on Phonic...ER UM ABN...yeah...He purchased Bumper's 3rd foal in-utero. As we corresponded via Email I told him about ABN...and the rest is history. And now he is the gentleman who will be buying the future Zonk and Bumper Baby.
So I thought I was done with stallions and done with breeding BUT...as Michael Corleone says, "Just when I think I'm out, they pull me back in."...my crazy Arabian friends

There are more to mention but I haven't the time at the moment. But rest assured you are ALL very dear to my heart

Shan, I am so glad to hear you're jumping in full speed. You have been one of the kicks I have needed & I'm so glad I know you.....how's the chocolate holding? I should send you some of the stuff I'm making. I have actually ventured into the candy creation business & so far results from people around here have been good.
Sometimes all it takes is one person to have faith in you so go for it & become a great trainer!

Well I have not been here a very long time but I still love this site and the people on it . I have met some great people already. For instance, Maria aka Maggiesmom who owns a Magic Aulrab filly named She's Aul that (Got it right ?). What a gorgeous filly! And I have in the process made a friend I can hang out and do horsey things with (something when I got out of the breed I had lost). I have met people like Peter Mileo who even though I have not met in person I sure look forward one day to meet face to face. And I have also had some good laughs thanks to Heidi with her dry humour, are we sure she is not English? I also have met some great people like Gari who even though we don't chat often she helped me to understand the common thread in all my horses that I love so much!!! So each person in there little way has touched me

Then there are TONS of you guys who just on a daily basis make my day with your answers to my questions, with your professions such as Rousseau being one to do horse insurance (I will be in touch soon, probably tomorrow on the ranch) and PaulaM who does software for horse businesses that I hope to need one day!! Then there is Sandstone, DeEttah, Miranda and others who offer such great services. We have photographers, trainers, advice offerers, breeders!!
Just all of you, lol, SERIOUSLY!! How can so many good people be concentrated in one place.

I mean really it is like being a kid in a candy store with all the knowledge and passion for Arabian horses combined into one great website.

I really appreciate also the researchers who offer photos like Comstock Lode and others who answer hard to answer questions about the older lines, sometimes that info is lost to us if not for some special guardians of this knowledge.

All in all, ABN is a great place to meet, share our passion and the ups and downs. And Maree, you are a lot like me, your heart is always in the right place and to me when I read your posts it is obvious. We all get lost sometimes, and I am always grateful for those friends that kick my butt (as you said you've had it so have I!!)

I want to add the two most importantt things besides meeting Maria here, Rebecca and I started to talk again and Derringer is coming home, my heart was sick over that for quite a while . And then, to add icing on the cake, I found out that my horse from my early 20's, Pasha was actually ok, even though his papers never got transferred he went on to become a pony club jumper somewhere. That was worth any discomfort in the way the message was delivered

And it would not have been possible without the internet but more importantly my connection to ABN, so two of the most sad events in my life, one had a happy happy ending (Derringer and my newfound friendship with Rebecca and Stacy) and the other though an angry delivery I found out had a good ending.

So this is also a place to reconnect and find out what happened I can't say enough, sign me up to be the ABN Poster child.
