Hi All, almost 10 years ago, I opened my barn to a rescued Arab who came from a farm dispersal in Michigan. I was always an Arab fan but always felt they were a bit small for me, but I fell in love with this guy. He came in a mess, full of fungus, completely and dreadfully underweight, but within a years time , he was healthy and we were schooling some low level dressage. I went on to work with him for several years and he ended up beauifully schooling 2nd level, we never went further due to me being diagnosed with a chronic auto-immune disease. That illness is now forcing us to close up shop here in NY and move to a warmer climate. I can only take one horse with me, so I am looking to rehome this wonderful guy. Here are his "stats"
name: Shahphir Sire: Dal Noir 15.3h, very red sorrell, beautiful coloring
Schooled to 2nd level, but has been out of work for 2+ yrs now due to my illness. He is not for a beginner rider, he does need frequent "boundaries" due to a strong personality, not mean, actually hes quite amusing and fun. I will dig out his registration papers from the attic for more background on his breeding. As much as I love the Arabs, I do not know a whole lot about them in terms of breeding, etc...This is not a desperate situation, just would love to see him with someone that can appreciate him instead of him hanging around being a "pasture ornament" !! I would also need to know that if his new owner, at any point in time could not care for him, that he would come back to me. Ideally, I would love the opportunity to visit him now and again and absolutely keep in touch with his new home. I love him dearly and this is heartbreaking, but I have to put my feelings aside and do whats best for him.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to utilizing this board in the future. Kelli in NY
