Karin A. McMurtrie has owned and bred Arabian horses for 25 years. For much of that quarter century, her beloved horses were a respite from a challenging career in law enforcement and forensics. Nice stallion! How old is he? Wondering as mine would be have been in his late teens now.

Years ago I had a *Patent son, Patent Pending, who was out of an egyptian bred mare I believe. THE MOST ATHLETIC HORSE I have ever ridden. Showed him in western, but he was mainly a reining horse who more then impressed the QH trainer who worked with him! We sold him to a teenager who I didn't transferred his papers, so sadly have lost track of him.

Mine was no where near as typey as his half bro RD Five Star pictured here, mine was very plain headed, not-araby at all & a bay, but boy was he an athlete!

Sherri...post pics of your boy....
pics I took of RD did not do him justice...this boy is breath taking in person...very dished head and huge eye...he is massive and correct...He is getting up there in age...he will be 26 in January
Wonderful Pic S & D...
just a really neat and very underused stallion...this boy produces pretty athletes!!

I'll see what pics I can dig up, may take a while ....but a pre-warning that they are from the '80's with the terrible fashions of the time (OMG, I wore a PINK outfit in western! You've been warned! ) and I did already note, he was not an attractive horse laugh.gif

My gelding must've got alot from his dam or else Patent wasn't very prepotent. He's not like Five Star at all! 26 yo, eh? He looks great!

Did you ever see *Patent yourself in real life? Always wondered what he was like.

*Patent was syndicated and stood for many years at Kincades Lakeview Arabians in Alberta.
His dam Penza I believe was also owned by Dr. Kincaid but never imported, my guess would be due to Piro.

His sire of course was not so lucky and the attempt to bring him to the US resulted in his untimely death. Though not before siring such greats as *Padron, *Abdullahhh, *Statistic, *Pattrone, *Paltrok, *El Kasaka, *Halycon and others...

Of *Patent's 100 offspring RD Five Star would have to be the most well known, and Russian breeders are lucky to have him still around and siring straight Russian foals at Singing Hearts. He also has a straight Russian son standing in Wisconsin. Bodes well for this branch of the sire line through the great Patron.

Thanks for all the interesting info & pics Nadia. Wow, Five Star sure looked like his sire! Handsome boy!

Joanne, this weekend I'll dig though my old photo boxes & see what I can find. No big hair, as it would've been in bun, but just wait til you see my horrid pink outfit. laugh.gif
