Well she is finally here.

A long legged, bay filly.

I wanted a colt as I have no problems parting with the boys. But I can never sell the girls. That crazy next generation breeder thing in me I guess.

Anyway, she is what I call a groom's delight. All bay with the only white a tine little star.

She showed up at 6:00 AM this morning. All went well and right now she and her mom are out in a corral enjoying the warm spring sun after spending most of the day in the foaling stall.

The pics here are from about a half hour old and 1 hour old. She looks very different already so I will do more photos tommorrow.

My dog thinks it is his job to stay nearby this foal at all times. It is very funny. Like he figures he made how many middle of the night trips to the barn for the last month, this filly must be somethig special, so he is protecting it.

I forgot to tell you guys... that black plastic and opaque milk trick is 100% accurate based on Tempest. I milked a few drops the last couple of days and they were never opaque. Last evening they were and 12 hours later, tada!

So next year I am not going to have all these sleepless nights waiting and waiting. I am just doing the milk test....... well maybe just a few nights, you never know if it was just a coincidence.

Lol, I know that syndrome! We're also working on a next generation (and we need both fillies and colts)- makes it pretty tough to sell them.
