I do not know this family personally, they live a few houses up from my parents and my dad had mowed their yard for about 3 years. Last night my mother noticed the little girl (7 years old) going from house to house knocking on doors. This is unlike her so my mother went to see what was wrong, my mom could hear her brother (5) crying up at the house. Their grandfather had fallen against their bedroom door, they were able to move him enough to get out of their room. But before they got out these children God Bless Them.... knew to check for a pulse, breathing and touched his stomach (they said that it was squishy and should have been firm). Their grandma was out shopping and soon came home, by then the police and ambulance was there. They took grandpa to the hospital..... My mom called me and asked if I would bring Bridgette over for them to play with and help keep their mind at ease. My mom had brought them back to her house (the grandmother knew this and felt comfortable since she "knew" them). About 9 PM mom got a call from grandma and she was coming to get the kids..... Grandpa did not make it. She called the kids therapist and was taking them there to tell them the news.
You are probably wondering why a therapist, and why grandma was taking them..... This is what makes the whole story that much more tragic.
These poor children have been through the mill in the past 3 years. Their father died a few years ago, and mom lost custody of them, so grandma and grandpa have been their sole providers. Now they have lost yet another male figure in their life. My heart aches for these children... they are super kids. We invited Rachelle (the little girl) to come to church with Bridgette some day. She is very excited, so we will see maybe next week if she can come with us.
Grandma was working but just recently lost her job, and grandpa was in between jobs, so we are sure there is no insurance to help with medical costs.
She of course is blaming God for all of this "devistation" in her life. This whole family needs uplifting prayers.

In the quiet light of the stable, you hear a muffled snort, the stamp of a hoof, a friendly nicker. Gentle eyes inquire, "How was your day old friend?" and suddenly all your troubles fade away.
If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.
