Have to admit negligence, have not been back to this site for months, obviously.

In answer to Ty's question about Foundation breeders of Polish in North America, specifically Cassels, well I seem to be the inheritor of the herd. I have 26 of them, all either born and bred at CCA or bred from CCA mares with CCA stallions (with only one exception, an *Ecaho filly).

Love to talk Cassel breds. They're my life.

Glad to see you found your way back. Go right ahead and tell us all about what you and the CCA Ponies have been up to biggrin.gif

Proud to say that I love a good old fashioned PP horse and could talk/read about them all day! Use to focus my past breeding program heavily on using the PP horses of the past! Can hardly wait to hear all you have to share!

Penny did I tell you I bought Cassels Gazella, last April? She had a filly soon after I purchased her, the sire is Western Love, a Monarch son. The filly is pretty and grey like her dam. I just weaned her.

OMG!!! I didn't even know she was for sale! I gave her to Cassie, thinking she had a safe and loving home for life! Teach me!

She is a dear sweet love of a thing, but when she got here she had big trust issues, having been through the Cowboy aka Stuntman handling when at CCA. She's not stupid, just spooked. Just told Billie she was the one regret I had that I had given her away, as she's by Bruczest, who was a pretty darn good race horse.... I have his race record if you need it, it's not on DataSource. Stakes winner.

And she's out of my dear Pregunta, who is out of the love of my life Brumyra (lost her to colic a year ago at 26). 'Gunta is still hale and hearty... aka fat pig on nothing but grass all summer.

My sweet Voyka. Wish I had had the help and the time to work with her like she deserves. I guess Cassie put in a lot of time with her, and gained her trust. I've saved all Cassie's e-mails to me about her. I'm upset that Cassie sold her without telling me, but then I did sign the papers over to her. I'm glad you have her. Just know she probably will need special handling all her life.

My rusty machete is still ready for Stuntman.

Hmmm.... out of Gamiro.... BUT! By Orsalin!!! So double *Orzel.

Of the *Orzel daughters Ormiro was not my favorite, just a personality thing. Course she had skin issues when I first got there, and I had to doctor her daily with stuff she didn't like, so she didn't like me either. Then TG then invented ivermectin! Cleared her right up.

Joe absolutely adored that mare! Said she was one of the most awesome rides he ever knew. She was a big tall huge war mare type, super huge barrel er "well sprung ribs." Great hip, great neck, very nice head, dished. Course by the time I got there she was in the broodmare band.

She had a filly on her when I got there, Romiro, by *Roban. Spittin image of mamma cept prettier. Then the other one I remember most is a Zbruenu colt, Brubolt! WOW! He was a handful, but had a pretty good race record, and then went on to EP.

WAIT! Isn't ... YES!!! Bruboj is also out of Ormiro! Joe's first race horse! The stories I could tell about him! Don't know if I have his race record.... Awesome.

Gamiro.... hmmm. Have to admit I never liked her either. Nice mare, but.....

So when it came time to buy the last of the bay mares from CCA, I hesitated about Cassels Czeska.... who is a Gamiro GD. Sure nuff, first day she threw both hind feet at my head. But we've come to agreement. As long as I don't expect her to tie, (she'll sit back forever) or remain dallied if I walk away (so does she!) we get along fine. Nothing spooks her. And then she produced this!
So I'm glad she's here.

Yes she does have trust issues for sure, but I have worked through it before. My second mare had serious trust issues(I was her 6th owner and bought her when she was 6) and it took me 6 years to gain it from her, but she's a different horse now and you'd never know that she was the crazy horse that she was. The last couple of years have been wonderful with her and I don't plan on Nawojka going anywhere any time soon either. She's bred to her Ganges colt so I'm excited to see that foal born! I would love to learn more of her story as it may help me work through some of her trust issues. I'd also like to see some pictures of her in her younger years and any family members if you have them. You can email me if you'd be more comfortable in doing so. My email is clhoosier@excite.com

So glad you have her! She's a gem. Just sent you an e-mail. Give her a kiss and hug from me.

Here's her little brother, CMA Phantom Canyon.
