Welcome to Arabian Breeders Network
Achaean Arabians
We are located in historic horse country in Northern Virginia. Our farm is home to three Straight Egyptian stallions sharing the honor of having some of the best bloodlines still available in the US.

Since 1981 we have been involved with Arabians, starting with the purchase of our *Morafic grandson, Harem Shamahsheik. At age 28, Sheik is still going strong and still loves to drive the wagons for community events.

I was sending pictures of *Hun's dam, Hula, to a friend and I noticed that she had a colt by Ekstern in 2007.

Just wonder if any of you world travelers have seen him. I am a big fan or both *Hun and Ekstern and am curious how this colt is maturing.

I'm sorry no one apparently saw this colt. I may have seen him myself, but have no recollection whatsoever. If she was in the parade in 2007 with her colt at side, then I saw them, but I was sitting on the grass not taking notes. It is bizarre that this foal and mare are in Bialka since Hula solt in 2006 for 160,000€ to Australia.
Anyhow, Hula is a very nice mare indeed, and I expect this colt to trot very well.

Here is a picture (1) of Hula with Hun (by Gazal al Shaqab) at side in 2003.
Picture 1 and 2 are by Dick Reed who owns her dam Hulanka.
Picture 3 by K. Dolinska. Don't know who the foal is, probably Huragan by Metropolis NA.

I concur Heidi.

This is my favorite pic of her, one by Stu:

And one of her dam, by Wojtech:

Certainly a cool dam line.

Jeff,

Here's the shot I love best - for obvious reasons! Denise sent it to me, I suspect she got it from you. Awesome motion. Did Hula pass it on to Hun?

That is really a interesting comparison...you can certainly see the improvement from dam to daughter!

I wanted Hula but not enough! Dick was going to bid up to a dollar amount for me, he didn't get a bid in, they flew past my number!!

I heard this was not her normal motion, that she had gotten loose from her handler and Stuart took advantage of the moment...True? False? Regardless of the facts...she is Awesome!!!!!

That photo by Stuart Vesty is a gorgeous photo. I also like the one you like Heidi of her trotting--also by Stu.

I was able to see Hulanka at the Reed's and I think she has some very nice ethereal qualities about her... better than what the picture of her shows.

Perhaps Billie (or others) could lease Hulanka or get an embryo from her to get your own similiar type Hula!

I'm very interested in seeing the Ekstern foal... as when I saw Hulanka I thought this is a mare I'd like to try on Monogramm!

Billie,

I should know this or be able to find it out myself, but who ended up with Hula and at what price?

Thanks for the cliff notes!

And to me, it doesn't matter if she only demonstrated this motion in the attempt to flee. smile.gif The fact remains she has the physiology to do it on demand. Wow.

Hulanka is going to have a foal(ET) by my stallion, MS FIREDEVIL...So no need to lease her I can see what happens. Should be interesting

I think Hula, as well as Gehenna, Pilica and Espadero among others, was sold to some Indonesian guy from Australia. I can't recall his name, but he bought something like 15/16/17 or so horses at the 2006 auction. Has anyone ever heard from any of the horses he bought again?
