As many of you prayed for us during our difficult time of finding an incurable brain tumor in my 65 year old mom, I wanted to up date you. We have had a rough road, but smiles still come and tears flow. Mom loss the use of her left hand and arm but truly felt if that was as bad as it got, it was not so bad. Talk about inspiring me. She looked to the positives in everything until she started to loose her balance and fall. She fell her last time in her home with both of my brothers there. It could have happen anywere and she had been living with me prior to that night. She broke her nose, gashed her head open and sprained both of her wrist. She could no longer live at home and we decided to try inpatient rehab. She was not happy and very angry at first with me, but now has forgiven and seen how much it will help. She is working daily on the bike and walking the tread mill to get her strength up. Her repeat MRI showed no tumor growth, but no shrinkage either. She has opted not to continue chemo and trying to find that happy medium of her time left. She has a new great granddaughter due tuesday the 14thof october and a wedding in november of her grand daughter. Everyone keep us in your prayers that her life continues to progress to a happy time, for right now she is truly giving up. She tells me she is alive but not living. I can only hold her and listen to love her. She is a courageous woman but sometimes it is out of our hands.

MY thoughts and prayers have been with you and with her. I understand totally, her not wanting to go through treatment! Let her enjoy her life, not be so sick! It is a hard decision to make.

Thinking of you and your mom...know how tough things can be in dealing with this disease and how important it is to maintain a positive attitude...your mom has wonderful support, incredible family and wonderful events to look foward to...even tho it is so tough for those going through this to maintain that upbeat attitude...praying that this is just a "bump" in her road and that the arrival of a new great grandbaby will lift her spirits... and yours as well...keep the faith,
Hugs Joanne

My status

Wow, what a fantastic story copper. It's a little like what happened to my best buddy Richard. He decided to give up treatment and his time with us was beautiful because he felt great, not sick from chemo.

Prayers to you, your kind, strong mother and the rest of your family.

Pam and I are sending out prayers. One thing to think of which might help her and you too. Both of my parents are gone and gone also are the stories of their past that I never heard. If she wants too, get her to tell the little fun stories of her past. The childhood, how I met your father, what I wanted to be when I grow up, do you know what you used to do - kind of stories. Tales that you will never be able to find anywhere else. Might make her feel better (even if you've heard them all before). So many things I don't know about my parents that I would like to ask if I could get one more hour with them. Mostly, just help her celebrate her life amd make her feel loved in this difficult time. Prayers and best wishes.

Mike and Pam
