Val, Duke looks like such an old soul. Bless you for bringing him home.
I love seeing dogs that are smart as well as pretty! When I was a kid, I worked at a kennel whose owner was a collie breeder & judge. We had a couple when I was real young. I love them but their coats are too much work for me & I don't like smooth coats. My grandparents had Poms & Yorkies. Poms will always have a special place in my heart.
We used to raise & show GSDs but now we have our coydog (1/2 coyote/half chow, right from the woods), Kyra. She's 11 & it will likely be just her & her kitties as long as she's alive (a very long time, I hope

) I would love to get another Chinese Crested tho. I named ours Oogles because she was so "oogly", she was cute. They're such smart little dogs, too.
I have to say that once I spay my Collie the coat will be less work (She is unspayed as AKC will not let you show conformation with an altered dog....how stupid is that...I always use the "There is no shame in a Champion Gelding" line)
She blows her coat 3 1/2 months after heat cyle. I swear this last time she took four months to blow her coat!!!!
When she is not blowing coat she is very easy to maintain.
I appreciate the smooths, but am not in love with them yet!!!
My Pom is a rescue. We call her Too Tall Pom, or the Pomeranian super model. The BYBs like the larger Poms as they get bigger litters. I love her size!!!!
That photo of Vickis Coy Dog with the Kitten should be in a PHOTO CONTEST!!!
