Comstock Lode...you are right we did own the bay gelding, Marbet Kerad. "Konrad" was a horse with a ton of heart. To see him, one would not think he was built to be cutting horse. I always felt that it was his desire and heart that made him so successful. I wonder if it is a common trait in the *Raffles horses???? When I was young, I worked on a farm and they owned the bay *Raffles son, Shayk. Loved that horse. Not a big horse but he thought he was 17 hands. He was one of the truly versatile Arabians. He won in English Pleasure, Western Pleasure, Trail, and he was the best trail riding buddy. One of the smartest horses I have ever handled.
Still own the mare, TW Magic Touch who is out of Neysena, a Mraff grand-daughter.

Pat - I did a list of cutting winners up on the working western forum and your gelding was on several , it was winners from 1960-1975 . I haven't gotten a chance to go back and put the breeding of the horses on it . When I was looking up the Raffles sons and saw your geldings' picture I recognized his name . I imagine when I get back to putting the breeding there I'll see more Raffles bred horses . There was another Garaff son who was a USTT open cutting horse ( 1964 ) Razeen and a USTT stock horse ( 1968 ) Shalimar Gillette .
I've only seen the pictures of the Raffles sons but my favorite is Mraff .
