FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Artist Ron Hevener Signs With Canadian/American Records

(Lancaster, PA) - Independent singer Ron Hevener has signed with Canadian/American Records - ( http://www.capricerecording.com/ ) reports the label's CEO, Joey Welz.

Hevener, who started with radio songs like "Believe in Me" on an obscure label called Sandstone Hill before moving on to Philadelphia productions with musicians for Patti LaBelle, Grover T. Washington and Whitney Houston at her peak, was one of the first independent artists.

"We did anything we could to pay for making and distributing our own records," says the artist. "I could easily have signed on with RCA. Lots of managers and labels wanted me. But, they wanted to change me. They didn't understand my style and I had to live a little before I could sing about it in front of people, you know?"

So, Hevener wrote novels instead ("Fate of the Stallion" – "The Blue Ribbon" – "High Stakes") and built a following among people who believe in love.

"Singing isn't just for a studio or a club," says Hevener, who performs in movie houses from the Golden Age of Hollywood. "Music comes from the heart, no matter where you are."

After appearing in the documentary film "Fate of the Stallion" this year and recording the theme song, "Never Let Me Go," Hevener was ready for a record deal. "I knew of Canadian/American Records – they go way back – and I respected them for still being around. That means a lot to me, especially the way the music business is today."

Three songs were selected for the company's radio sampler, including "The Best of Me", "Sweet Lover" and a cover of Roy Orbison's "Button Offa My Shirt." All three songs are currently being played on international radio and plans are under way for a new album. Asked what took him so long to sign with a label, Hevener grins. "I guess I'm just a slow learner!"

As for what the new album will be called, he just shakes his head and laughs. "Well, I've already recorded "Never Let Me Go" so, I guess this one should be "Never Give Up!"
