Would like everyone's input and advice please. I am starting my foundation herd, and am particularly interested in Classical Spanish mare lines that produce Working Western (Reining) and Sport horse foals. Please bear with me everyone, as I have been out of horses for several years, and am now playing "catch-up"! I am most interested in those lines that might not be the most popular, however, are the strongest in genotype. Thanks all for your help...and I am searching the web and printing copies of pedigrees from places like Greengate, Stanleys, etc. to put paper to the phenotypes I like.

If you come across a certain horse you like, feel free to post its info...but make sure it's OK with the seller...But beware of certain sellers too...we at ABN will be glad to tell you via PM who to avoid

Thanks for the advice Shan, will do. Won't be doing too much in the way of purchasing until after the first of the year (this yucky thing called WINTER that the northern parts of the country suffer through!! laugh.gif ) is part of the consideration. Also want to be sure I have what I want and need going into my foundation mares. I am asking LOTS of questions and getting as much advice as possible from experienced breeders to try to limit the mistakes, since it takes 2-3 years just to really have some idea of what my babies will grow into. And it's not like I have a bazillion choices, since the number of Straight Spanish breeders is fairly limited!! wink.gif
