The runaway from Kossak canvas...
Beauty & stamina...

Mihrab
Borek-Minorka/Wermut

Dry as a bone, entwined in a web of visible veins, marked with two thumbs of the Prophet... Chosen by Allah.

The word "Mihrab" descends from the Arabic haraba, what means: "to fight, to rage, to pray".

Combining such hard to bring together traits, as beauty and bravery
Fiery temper, charisma, iron health - those are the virtues of a proud representative of a Kuhailan bloodline, founded by the mare Mira.

A refined head with expressive, soulful eyes, long neck, level topline, a perfect movement, body made for effort, an exceptional intelligence.

Borek, the sire to Mihrab, twice was claimed a Racehorse of the Year. His race achievements are impressive. During 3 seasons he had 22 starts, 10 wins, for 7 times was placed second and for 3 times third. He won the Janów, Ofir, Michałów, Kurozwęki and Figaro Stakes (1992), being placed second in the Derby, Europe and Criterium Stakes (1991,1992).

Minorka, the dam to Mihrab, represents a unique damline founded in a private stud of Anna Dębska by the mare Maciejka (Sędziwój - Mira), brad at Albigowa. The ancestors to Maciejka were renowned for the iron health and hardness, from which resulted their race achievements. The race career of Minorka looked as follows: 1/20 (1-5-7-2-2).

Mira-dam of the Derby winners:Mir Said and Mirza.Mir Said is a sire of great racing horse Algorab.

Wermut, a maternal grandsire to Mihrab, was twice claimed a Racehorse of the Year.

Mihrab was 5 at Derby,Pamira,Kabareta Stakes, and wins some 1-st group races.

Beautiful!! I'm a sucker for those Mira-breds smile.gif Every one of my horses goes to Mira wub.gif Two on the tail female, one by Bajczar, and an *Algorab son.

I wish your boy was in our neighborhood!!

Edited to add: wow - he's really bred to be quite a progenitor of the Kuhailan Afas line!!

Loving him even more! I just read on the Polish thread that you are expecting a foal from him out of a mare from the Mira line as well - I sure hope the mare's buyers share pics for all to see!! I'll be doubling up on the mare line, too, with my stallion Fallkon and mare Ormiro - but she might need to have a "date" with my *Algorab son first wink.gif We'll see if we get any colts from his first foal crop.

Does Mihrab have any foals on the ground?

--------------------
The Arabian stallion is magnificent, and the mare quite glamorous, but the airy-fairy foal is so delicate and fawn-like, he steals your heart away!
- Gladys Brown Edwards, "Know the Arabian Horse"

"So tender is the Arab of his horse, that he will seldom beat or spur him; and in consequence of this humane treatment, the animal considers itself as one of the family, and will allow the children to play round it, and to fondle it like a dog." The Wonders of the Horse, by Jos. Taylor

"For the dominant quality of Arab blood is its eternal, its immortal persistence. Wherever, as the horseman of today looks about him and among these horses, observes beauty, speed, grace, fire, activity, docility and fineness yet toughness of fiber, he sees that eternity, that immortality, incarnated. It has triumphed over everything mundane, thousands of years, hap and circumstances, time and tide, incredible hardships and immemorial adversities, misuse, and abuse, the exigencies of mankind's daily life and the flame and blood of the battlefield, unconquerable, indestructible and victorious. Everything worth while in the shape of a horse in the world today partakes of it. The Greeks believed it Godlike, and verily they made no mistake."March 27, 1942, Mr. Hervey

I adore his head and neck , do you have photo's of him side on and front view for legs and conformation? I would love to see the rest of him. The one photo is in deeper grass so wondering if you have any that show his whole structure and his legs.

He is gorgeous. Thank you.
