Just wanted to give you all a heads up that as of Jan 09 all FEI tests have changed including all junior, young rider and FEI freestyles.

You can find them at

http://www.fei.org/Disciplines/Dressage/Or...sage_Tests.aspx

Oh Wow Thank You Patricia!! i knew they were coming but didn't know they were out yet!! Time to start memorizing!!
Hey while we are on the subject-Vote against the caller for ARABIAN FEI tests!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel by the time you get to FEI if you don't know your tests don't show! Yes I have gone off coarse many times but I still won't use a reader!

I will be voting at convention to eliminate callers in FEI tests. I am stunned and amazed this question even needs to come up.

Notice the change in the coefficients in the FEI tests. Addition of REINBACK in GP.

Thanks Mary Jo-I am glad you will be there to set people right!! I was amazed when I saw a reader for a FEI test at an Arab show and was told it was OK for Arabs???? sad.gif

It really was NOT ok. The trouble was having a TD and/or steward plus a rider were not doing the 'right' thing.

I object each and every time we try to come with 'special' rules for Arabians. It is just a bad idea all around.

Hi ladies,

Good eye Mary Jo on the collective mark's coefficient. Wow that is going to really put more emphasis on the training!!!!

I like all the new tests except the Int 2. The old I2 was a great intro to piaffe and passage the new one is really difficult. I would rather ride the new GP than the I2 since it has a passage-piaffe-passage-piaffe-passage sequence on a very difficult line. The old test gave green horses and riders to this "level" a chance to re-group with the p/p and not freak both horse and rider out. This will be very interesting.

Yes Patience I was shocked about the reader and the absurdity of the "trainer" using a caller and stating it was allowed-very unprofessional.

Do you all hear that someone tried to get large R judges approved to judge FEI at Arabian shows? I believe it was shot down-yea!!! What are people thinking? It would make all scores for the show invalid to USDF and again downgrade our Arabians.

Yup. There was a motion in front of the BOD to allow 'R' judges to judge FEI. Fortunately one of the board members wanted it to go to the dressage committee for review. It is based on how 'hard' it is to hire an 'S' judge. Well SURE it is if you wait until 6 months before a show to hire one. The Arabian folks (including those who hire for the SHN) need to figure out how to hire 2 years or better in advance. I know a lot of S judges who are hiring 3 years out right now.

Down with special rules for Arabians.

Same thing for hirng hunter and sport horse judges! Do you notice on ads for shows that the MR judge is named but more often than not, the sport horse disciplines judges are "TBA". what 's up with that??????
