*Hafs (Hafeed Anter x Sania) 1983, liver chestnut stallion. He is not mine, but I am trying to help his owner find him a home. He actually has to be out of his current place by tomorrow (Sunday) and she can't find anyone to give him a ride. She has enough money for one more month of board at another place, but cannot get him there. If someone were to take him by tomorrow she would give the $400 to them instead.

He is about 14.3 hands and robust, wears a size 75 blanket. (has been blanketed so far this winter) He has all his teeth, but he could probably use a floating. Has a heart murmur that was just detected, but the vet does not feel it is a problem since he is otherwise healthy and has compensated for it. She said anyone is welcome to call the vet and ask about it if they want. He has choked several times also, so he does need his grain soaked as well.

Hafs was fertile a few years ago (the last time he was bred) and the mare conceived on the first try. Has been DNA typed and blood typed as well and his papers would go with him. He also apparently was raced when he was younger, but I am not sure what his record was. He is completely sound now and not on any supplements. I believe she also said that some of his offspring are Endurance horses. (Don't quote me on that though)

This horse was rescued twice from starvation (by his current owner) and once from the kill buyer (horse was out on lease and sold without owners consent), so he has has a rough go of it. His owner says he is "enthusiastic" when being fed (probably due to all of the starvation), but has never tried to hurt her. He may not be for the timid at feeding time though. Other than that he sounds like an absolute puppy dog with a fun personality. Apparently he is quite the talker and attention hound. Very personable.

He needs to find a home near Lutherville, MD so his owner can go and visit him. After the previous experience with the other woman that leased him she wants to make sure she can check on him and just visit him. She said Southern PA and DE are also OK. If you are interested please call Kristen at 443-871-5455

One other suggestion (thanks so much for trying to help this boy find a new home, too!) is to put this in rescue/rehoming AND the Straight Egyptian (Pyramid Society) thread. The more places he's posted, the more folks will see/hear about this. Sending prayers for a great new home, he's a beauty!

Roze, at this point I think later in the week might just be okay too. She might be able to beg for a few more days if there was a definite departure date. Please give Kristen a call, I am sure she wuold love to hear from you. Thank you for your generosity!!

I just got an email from her...he was able to find a ride to the new place, now he just needs a permanent home. He still only has 30 days. She said he made the transition very well and is nice and settled in.

Thank you so much Roze for your offer! Who knows, maybe someone will need a ride for him to a permanent home soon? (cossing my fingers for that!)

I know this is far from where she wants him, but I can recommend an excellent retirement farm. www.camprusk.com The owner frequently makes trips to pick up horses from all over the country for their owners and the care he gives them is fantastic. He accepts stallions as far as I know. It may be worth looking into if he hasn't found a home locally yet.
