I spent all night at a bon fire with good conversation, cold winecoolers and dear friends. I was so tired when I got home (
see the other post about my Thanksgiving if you really want the details lol) I could hardly keep my head up. The thing is, I had a pig with me....and she is the cutest thing I've laid eyes on. lol I couldn't see sticking her out in the pen last night after she spent about 3 hours snuggled on my lap near the fire.
She slept soundly ALL NIGHT LONG in my bed

At about 8:30 this morning she woke up. I took her outside and she went pee pee....I'm so proud of her!
It was tempting to bring her back inside tonight but she's been running around with her piggy boy friend all day so I think she'll be fine. When I put them away she went right to the hay and made her bed.
Let me introduce you to our newest family member!! (Seriously, if someone told me how fun pigs are I never would have had kids. lol)

She is out of a sow that is 1/2 Hampshire and 1/2 Pineywood Rooter (that's what they call wild hogs here in FL) Her dad could be 1) wild hog 2) 1/2 Hampshire 1/2 Rooter or 3) Potbellied! Sooo.....we'll see. (My daughter hasn't seen her yet!!!!)
This is her hubby to be. He is from the same farm so his daddy could be 1) wild or 2) potbellied. His mom is a potbellied. lol

We have them in hopes to become less dependant on shopping for food. Of course we won't eat them but their kids are fair game (sorry!) and we can also sell the pigglets so that'll add to the cash flow.
We also have this milk goat (but the male pig has nursed off her b/c he was a tiny baby when we got him a couple months ago...lol)
Milk Goat

and some chickens

"Chicken Salad"
Those little red things are persimmons ^^^ people eat them - I don't lol We can sell them though b/c we have several trees that produce. I wish we had pecans.

So yeah, you could say that I've really gone to the .... pigs down here in FL.
