I have just started going through my horse's pedigree and researching what strains they are. Unfortunately, I have run into a few lines I have been unable to find in the strain database I have been using. Could someone with more information on strains be able to help me with these. I will list the main horse I am doing the search on and the ancestor I can't find. They are:

Sunra, #0228242, Julcons King Tut on dam's side and Gazyr and his dam, Ramia

CDSA Showme Shai, #0617735, Sakkra Razima and her entire dam's line; Amir El Hadassah and his dam, Ro Hulu Amira and Dawn Anisa's sire (don't know who he is)

Sha Malika Faaiz, #0558821, CM Deynalisha and her entire dam's line; Hasnero and his entire dam's line; Count Bazy and his dam, Al-Marah Ragtime; Prince Easha and his entire dam's line; and Kariba

If anyone can give me further information or tell me where I can look to find the information I would GREATLY appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Thank you so much for responding to my request. I am glad to be able to finish my pedigrees with strains highlighted. I have a few questions:

1. I forgot to ask about Shalimar Pericles and his dam, Shalimar Colleen's strain from Sunra's pedigree.

2. In Sha Malika Faaiq's pedigree, I still need Kariba's strain and I noticed you had CM Deynalisha's strain as "hamdaniyah-simriyah". Do you mean "hadban"? I hadn't seen that strain listed as you have it typed. I didn't know if it was the same or not. Also in that pedigree, could you tell me who Dawn Anisa's sire and dam are? I can't locate that information to finish the pedigree.

3. The last question I had was would you mind telling me how you came to find this information? I went to www.elmasri.net to locate the strains I have now. Is there another database I could use to find additional strain information? I used www.allbreedpedigree.com to locate the names of the horses' ancestors I did not have. I am still new to this and am becoming more and more fascinated with each pedigree I do! While researching the bloodlines, I found out that two of my mares I thought were straight egyptians were not and was unable to identify some of the abbreviations used in the pedigree database, i.e., ES and RS. The POL and KEL and USA and UK I was able to identify, but not those two. I am assuming DES means Desert Bred? (I guess this is really more than one last question!)

Thanks for helping a newbie out with this!

Thanks so much. So what is RASOULMATALL's strain?

I had also asked on a previous reply if you meant that CM Delynashia's (sp?) strain was Hadban. You spelt it differently and I didn't know if it was the same strain or not. This will be the last that I need and I can finish my pedigree's. It looks like I'm going to have to find some straight egyptian mares as I thought I had some, but after my research, it appears I don't. They are only egyptian related. Thanks again for your patience with my questions and your help.

Also, what does ES and RS stand for in the pedigrees? I know what USA and POL and KEL stand for, but not those two. Is there a book or somewhere I can go to find out what these abbreviations mean?

RASOULMATALL / Kuhaylan Nowakiyah, most of the abbreviations your looking for should be found on the AHA site.
