I suppose your are right...... I am such a home body that I guess it really doesn't matter what happens in "town". I go to town 3 times a week, Friday is grocery shopping and bill paying day and Tuesday and Thursday is library day (they have story time one day then a juggler, vetrilaquist, puppet show, or something like that the other day.
I am still in city limits but I live in the part of town that unless you have a lot of money for the 3-600,000 dollar homes you need not come out this way, unless you want to live way way out in the boonies.
We had a rash of burgleries going on and it did not take long for everyone to rally together and really watch each others property. There are alot of folks around here who work very hard for what they have and will guard it with loaded guns. Didn't take long for the word to get around because the burgleries stopped about as quick as they started.
For the most part I like where I live it is comfortable and we are close to town still on pavement (taxes kill us but.....)

In the quiet light of the stable, you hear a muffled snort, the stamp of a hoof, a friendly nicker. Gentle eyes inquire, "How was your day old friend?" and suddenly all your troubles fade away.
If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.
