It is with great pleasure that I announce that the Pyramid Society's Performance Horse Award Program is rolling out and ready to accept registrations for 2008!

All Canadian and US owned and registered Arabian horses who meet the present Pyramid Society definition of Egyptian, Egyptian-Sired/Egyptian-Related/Egyptian-Bred are eligible to be enrolled in this program (see program for more details). You don't have to be a member of the Pyramid Society to enroll (though of course membership is encouraged) as there is a nominal cost of $50 US to enroll a horse for a chance to win a slice of the guaranteed minimum $5,000 US pool . The Performance Horse Award Program is free to all Pyramid Society members in good standing (again - see program for more details).

Bottom line is you gain points by competing your Egyptian, Egyptian-Sired/Egyptian-Related/Egyptian-Bred in performance. Go on a competitive trail ride and earn points. No expensive trainer required. Disciplines are wide ranging - from eventing to working cow and dressage to 4-H to endurance. See the detailed program information for more on what disciplines your horse is eligible to earn points in.

This program has been over a year in the making and is being funded for a three year trial period by a group that passionately believes in showcasing the Egyptian, Egyptian-Sired/Egyptian-Related/Egyptian-Bred horse in performance.

For those of you who complained that the Pyramid Society is a "halter only" organization and does not have programs available for those who don't show at the Egyptian Event or in halter, well, here's a program for you so I challenge you to step up to the plate and register your horse.

THE PERFORMANCE HORSE AWARD PROGRAM REQUIRES 100 REGISTRANTS BY NOVEMBER 15th IN ORDER TO GO FORWARD. So here is your chance to go out and make a statement with that talented SE or Egyptian-Sired/Egyptian-Related/Egyptian-Bred you have!
