Welcome to Arabian Breeders Network
Whispering Hil Farml
Whispering Hill Farm is a small breeding farm located in Northwestern Pennsylvania. My husband and I have been raising Arabians, Half-Arab Pintos, and NSH's since 1980. We currently stand a gorgeous purebred Arabian stallion, My Alybi, and an extremely typey Half-Arab Pinto, WH Twist of Fate. Check out our sales page for some beautiful animals available at this time. At Whispering Hill, color is truly a bonus!

I have been thinking alot about things I can use on Star.

Mulling over and thinking about some things the trainer suggested.

One thing he suggested that I think Star would also enjoy is a Sidepull.

Now I have tons of options for a side pull..

Knotted

Not knotted

Leather

Rope

Nylon..

My other option is a Indian Hackamore, Cherokee bridle or a war Bridle.

It's very interesting and I like it. it wraps around the nose and reins hook to it. It works on indirect reining. If I pull the left rein it crosses under the chin and pulls the right side, pushing them away from the pressure on the right to go left.

I have no problem with the Bosal, Star is doing well in the Bosal and after some adjsutments I think we have it right now.

I'd love to have other options and choices to use. I mean mostly everyone makes the choice of which headstall to use, which bit to use. I'd love to have options as well.

So give me your advice, opinions and Suggestions..

Some I am looking at

Kandie can you put up a picture of what you are calling a war bridle ? in the olden days that was torture device to use on really rank horses .

Ditto what Comstock said. Those have traditionally been one of the cruelest devices you could put on a horse.

Go with the Schnieders side pull - I have that very one . You might look at the couple they offer with a bit as well .

you know the right bit would probably be ok, probably cost around $150 though.

i know horses that hate certain bits, but the myler custom comfort snaffle or some a little billy allen they wear fine all day.

anything you listed here, even a little arab s hack would be fine.

what she likes what your hands can use is what you get. no one can poll or guess what a horse and rider team can do and use in the flesh. jmho

so long as she doesn't end up in mech hack and tiedown.... haha.

No, I wouldn't do that to her. I feel she may be more comfortable in a Sidepull.
