In Memory of ?Ali?
Today the Homola family mourns the loss of our dear friend and companion, Ali. As a true testament to the Arabian spirit, Ali fought hard to stay with us, but in the end the pain was too much for him to bear. Such a noble creature deserves to pass on with dignity so we gave him the last and best gift we could. Alaa Jamil (AHA# 382737) was humanely put to sleep last night shortly before midnight due to a twisted gut.
Ali was our son?s first horse. He was gentle, patient, and understanding. A parent couldn?t ask for a more trusted soul to watch over their child as s/he learns about horses. Minor mistakes were overlooked and all was forgiven with a gentle pat, a kiss on the muzzle, and an apple treat.
His nickers at feeding time earned him his nickname, ?The Harley Horse?. His brisk trot and flagged tail always brought a smile to our faces as we watched him stretch his legs. Under saddle, he did anything and everything asked of him, even when he would rather jump, than walk over a small bridge.
When the time comes for us to cross over the Rainbow Bridge, we know that Ali will be there waiting for us with his not so soft nicker. Ali will be remembered for his gentle nature, determined spirit, and loving personality.
Our sincere appreciation goes out to Dr. Russ with Bailey Veterinary in Roseburg for his compassion and professionalism during our difficult time.
Sincerely,
Sharlyn, Jason, and Sam Homola
