Have you seen my Ads and where?

My stallion is SC Dark Conquest+
My farm is Mighty Arabians.

As I am about to plan my advertisisng for the upcoming year I thought I would ask the experts (yes..You!!) where they like to do thier advertising.

How do you feel about the new e-mails from Arabian Horse World and Arabhorse? Do you look at them? Or are we just getting so many you ignore them?

I have seen your ads and it must have been in AHW . I liked the browband on your stallion so much I got one . I know that doesn't help sell his breedings but it get me to buy something because of his ad ( I should email them and tell them that's why I bought it, maybe he can get an endorsement contract )

The biggest part of marketing is your personal involvement. Meaning are you getting out there and really shaking hands and kissing babies… Yes.. We have to really make our boys a family name. I know people argue the fact that you need show ring wins and babies on the ground.. And yes that is very true. But that isn't all that's needed.

Over the last few years I have been watching some of the most successful people market there Stallions. The ones selling breedings are actually beating the doors down.. Sending Videos, Leaving pamphlets out at shows and just being part of the Industry.

So far what I have learned is people "talk" and your reputation is your biggest asset. What are you doing to just be a good example to the Arabian community?

As far as how that gets breedings, well the more people you know the more "press" your Stallion will receive, The "It's a small world" is now truer than ever in the Arabian Horse Industry. We are competing for a very small segment of the Equine $$$ and with the breeding numbers decreasing every year it will continue until the Score card in Mandatory (Plug)

As far as Mass E-Mailing well I personally get so many that I really don't pay all that much attention to them anymore, I bet I receive 5-10 a day now mostly from Arabhorse, a little over the top anymore.

I think when it becomes time for me to really promote my little guy; I will be looking more at Giving away breeding to Stallion Futurities, Programs that pay back to the owners. They do wonderful promotion. Also there are more magazines than just the AHT or AHW that have greater circulations.
Many clubs offer more of a monthly paper with there membership.. We receive the "Corral" Ohio paper and there is one other I really like that is more for the south east community. I love to read those the most..

Well in short I guess.. Getting out to the shows… being helpful, having a great horse, and use every opportunity to add a Shameless plug every chance you can !!!

Just a note on Internet marketing… ABN had over 7.5 million hits in the month of Sept. we are now being see consistently in the Alexa to 100k… Don't over look the Internet as a marketing tool, Not just ABN but other top (respected) sites that allow banners and Links.. Putting time into a Linking campaign can garner a ton of exposure to your stallion.

Okay I have one more… Informative Articles on your Stallion and Farms accomplishments and have them in your blog or website.. BLOW your horn…

This past year was my first attempt at advertising.. So mostly I want to know which Ads were noticed before I go into my budget for next year. Not only do I want to advertise my stallion..But I want to advertise an Arabian doing dressage and doing it well!!. I have done some local Ads that I think capitalize on that.
I do know that my web site has had the most referral hits from ABN!! I am so grateful for this site..Not just for advertising but also for the entertainment, information, and promotion of this wonderful breed it serves. I AM VERY PROUD TO BE A PART OF SUCH A POSITIVE SITE AS THIS.

The Front page would be a great place to have his video up... There is UPS!!! teehee Hint Hint...

The ad I remember has that picture - which is a perfect picture ( IMO ) . To keep it fresh I know you'll have to change it but that one is always a great one to go back to . It reminds of the great picture of GS Khochise in the red side saddle outfit, just one of those that sticks in your head .

I will email the browband people - who are great to deal with if anyone is looking for a very pretty beaded browband - I got the checkerboard ( red/black/white ) .

Thank you..I think Suzanne is a very gifted photographer!! I am also a huge Tamcam fan and although I have not had the pleasure of her lens pointing at any of my horses, I do hope to someday!!

I found the company that makes the brow bands very nice to do business with also..I believe it is a small somewhat homebased operation.

Hi Zarabeth - I've seen your ad at least in two different editions of one of the big mags - I think it was probably AHW. I don't know if my opinion counts as I don't own a horse (at the moment) - but the reasons I noticed it are:

It doesn't look like the other ads - it really stands out.

It has a beautiful photograph of both you and your horse - so it caught my artist eye.

I agree with everything Dean has said about marketing -don't be afraid about tooting your own horn!! Have a 10 second "elevator speech" that you can say whenever someone asks about you and your horse. And also advertise here on ABN - and not just with your website at the bottom of each post. Get a banner made that appears at the bottom of every post and rotates on the top of each page, and an ad that you can add to the classified section, write a blog here on ABN get added to the Directory here and if you haven't put a link on your website to ABN (something I need to do). Post photos in the gallery. Post your video here on the index page. Every bit of it helps your exposure and your search engine ranking. As Dean said this site is becoming a major force. Everyone - if you haven't done this - take advantage of it - and the most awesome, amazing, fabulous thing about it is IT'S ALL FREE!!!!!

I just wanted to toot ABN horn a bit, Dean & Heidi do so much for all of us to promote ourselves and the Arabian Horse but they are so busy they don't have the time to let everyone know truly how much is available for all of us!

I'll retire my cheerleading outfit for the night hehehe.

I know I've seen him several times on Dreamhorse and thought how nice he is. I don't get the AHW and Times so I wouldn't have seen him in those.

I was thinking, LOL Something for people to consider is getting a Web page just for the Stallion. This is a two fold thing.. One it give a broader exposure on the net, and Gives you a place to just promote him as an Individual . Having custom articles about your stud, and News on Babies, sales and wins. I think this is becoming something a lot of people are doing now to help market the Babies and the Horse itself. I think from a net perspective it's probable the best thing you can do.
