Dean has wanted to support SHN for some time . I think it's time we figure out how we, ABN, can raise some cash to support classes SHN . I personally would like a cash prize with no strings attached .

The next step would be some ideas of how we can raise some cash and/or prizes -

Well I know we were throwing around the idea of having a SHN Auction last year. Maybe we could do that or open a store where all the proceeds of the store go to the SHN fund? That way people could donate things for people to purchase and the store always stays open. No bidding just buying. Things could be added at any time and people can purchase at any time. Keep the store open until a certain date. All that money goes to 2008 SHN. Reopen the store after SHN and start all over. Am I making any sense??? What do you all think???

I think that makes sense , good sense . I like the idea of a store and things to buy . I know the idea of white polo shirts with a logo was brought up on the tee-shirt thread . Maybe we could talk Kelly and Dean into donating part of the proceeds from the white polos or something like that too?

If Dean is willing, we really need to do something.

Raffle off a car. Sell massages down on Tejon and 8th. Something.

I'm sure Lisa would have a say in Deano giving massages to strangers .

What classes would the funds be awarded to ? On the other Board they held a SHN prize $ auction, but I think the $ only went to the upper dressage levels, not too many of us compete there :-( ( YET )

I think we should start with lover level classes.. to entice poeple to SHN

I think the idea is more spread out, which of course would mean less money ( maybe to begin with ) but I'd like to see an amateur class ....maybe second level AOTR I think once we figure a way to raise cash we can find a way to pay out at more levels and disciplines .....

Would there be interest in several fund raisers - Tams idea of a store , a stallion auction , something else over the next 8 months ............Ideas anyone?
