Last week I received an e-mail from a person who said they knew of someone who was worried about sending in a transfer as they needed it back fast. They had spoken to them a few days before that.
My reply to that was: If instead of talking about how much time it might take, the person had sent in the paperwork back in the middle of November when they thought about it, they would probably be either receiving the new certificate this week or already have it in their hands. But instead, they still have it sitting on their kitchen table wondering how long it is going to take.
You know how this is going to end. This week they will in a panic contact the Registry saying they need it ASAP as the deadline for Scottdale is the 15th of December or the sale of the horse is for a Christmas present! They will fret and worry and complain about how long it is taking.
At this time of year, the applications and transfers really start piling in as people try to beat the increase of fees related to age of foals or show deadlines and sales loom.
So if you need your certificates fast, please be sure you have filled in the applications correctly and have included your CREDIT CARD number or a CERTIFIED CHEQUE. No work will be processed without full payment as that is the way the computer system is set up.
The staff in the CAHR office can expedite your certificates for a rush fee, so if you have left it to the last minute or something has just come up, it may be possible to get you your certificates on time if everything you submit is correct.
So be sure to take the time to ensure the leg you say has a white marking really does and that the correct boxes are checked off and all your address info is current etc etc etc.
