The past 10 years we have completely lost interest in the halter classes, Just because we are more performance now?
Looking at the evolution of the halter class? seems that everyone is running in circles..
We have a lot of ?sour? grapes out there and I look at it as more of a ?How can we pass a rule so I can win?? If you take a Stallion in the ring at U.S. Nationals and he doesn?t even hit a card, he?s not a halter horse.. Get over it?Your not going to pass a ?Let me win? rule?
We have beaten the Halter industry to DEATH? there are more silly rules for Halter than any other class?.
1. Walk to the cone?. Da? will these horses go on to performance?
2. Don?t use you whip?. ?Common sense?
3. Walk on a loose lead? all the way around?
4. Need a point is some type of performance, well that?s just fair?
5. Can?t whip, so now stop shanking?
6. Hard Stance?. Don?t show?
7. And now ?Score Card? A little behind the times on that?
I?m sure I missed something? First Score card, just common sense, If Judges can?t give reasons now how will paper work change anything?. Are we looking for the Magic cure.. Well the magic cure is get AHA out of the Power Tower and start doing there job.. All aspects of the Arabian Industry is in need of help,, not only MR Halter... Are we letting them take the focus off the real problems?
We have played around enough with Halter to know If our horses have sores under the chain they are being shanked TOO much, Common sense, If your trainer is greasing the chain it?s not to make it shine!!!
The Judges look at Bridles and Bits?.. But have you seen a Judge Inspect the Chain area of a halter horse? Seems the story can be told right there?. I do!! After every session..
What will the Trainers have to do now to compete?? All I know is now it will be more intense at the farm?
BTW? Why are we ignoring Performance?. I have seen more spurring, whipping, and just plan poor horsemanship on today?s performance horses now than ever? But that?s okay as far as AHA cares? Maybe the hidden agenda against the Halter industry is in there hands? Hummmmmm?..
