Ok, this obviously is NAHR but what a great opportunity for Buckeye Arabian lovers to do some community service.

Extreme Home Makeover is in Whitehall (suburb of Columbus) this week, building a new home for a marine & his family. We were just going to go Sunday so we can yell, "MOVE THAT BUS!" with everyone else. lol Then I got to thinking, it would be even more cool to be able to be part of something so wonderful, so I'm going to go volunteer. Whitehall is about half an hour from me (give or take). Anyone want to go with me? I called the news station & got the address so I'm going to go tomorrow (Wednesday). I'm not sure if I'll go again after that but I may. The house is at: 4688 Harbinger Circle West, Whitehall, Ohio 43213
http://extreme.realliving.com/ The OSU marching band will be there tomorrow night (not sure if I'll stay for that tho). Besides being a marine, Jason Thomas moved to Whitehall from NJ 3 years ago. How's that for a coincidence? (I just moved back to Ohio from NJ) lol
For anyone who's never seen the show, it's a great feel-good show (heavily sponsored by Sears) where a crew led by Ty Pennington (formerly of Trading Spaces) demolishes & builds a new house for a needy family, all in the space of a week, everything done by volunteers. During that week, the family is sent on a vacation & kept in contact via video phone calls. Families are chosen from applications & videos sent in. I make sure I watch it every week. Craig gets tired of it, says it's the same thing over & over lol but I love seeing a show that's about helping people. (I know it's about ratings & sales, too, but it still helps people in need.)
If anyone wants to get together & go with me, my cell # is: 908-415-1502

ABC HONORS LOCAL MARINE
Columbus resident and former Marine Sgt. Jason Thomas got quite a surprise when he opened his door Sunday morning.
The crew from ABC's Extreme Makeover Home Edition rolled into town to renovate Thomas' Whitehall home.
Sgt. Thomas was enlisted as a Marine and was in New York City on September 11, 2001.
Thomas, along with another Marine, went into ground zero and found two New York Police Officers buried alive in the rubble.
The crew from Extreme Makeover will be in town working on Thomas' home all week, while the family enjoys a free vacation to Walt Disney World.
The house is scheduled to be demolished sometime Tuesday, and the family will get to see their new place next Sunday.
The episode should air in the coming months.

Whitehall Family Recipient of Dream Home
Jason Thomas and his family woke up yesterday to the sound of Ty Pennington screaming into a bull horn. As the latest family selected for an extreme home makeover by the popular reality television show, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, the Thomas? ran out of their home excitedly.
?We couldn?t have picked a better builder,? said Kirsten Thomas. ?Thank you, thank you, and thank you!?
Thomas, a former sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps, is often called an American hero because of his efforts to save two New York City Police Department officers buried in the rubble after the World Trade Center attacks. For years, he was an anonymous good samaritan who remained unidentified until August 2006 when the movie World Trade Center was released and Thomas decided to reveal himself.
?Thank you,? said Jason Thomas. ?This means so much; you don?t understand how much this will change our lives.?
After moving from New Jersey to Whitehall, Ohio, three years ago with his wife and four children, Thomas? sister in law and her two children moved in with the family. Thomas quickly realized their home was in dire need of repair and was unsafe for the children. The family first turned to a home inspector who informed the Thomas? that the structure was not sound and needed costly repairs. Disappointed with the construction of the home and without the financial means to pay for the repairs, the Thomas? applied to Extreme Makeover: Home Edition for a new home.
In addition to receiving an extreme home makeover, the Thomas? left for a dream vacation at Walt Disney World courtesy of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. While the family enjoys its time with each other, M/I Homes and central Ohio volunteers will be working diligently to make their dream home a reality.
