Just an idea, so tell me if I'm crazy ...

I, for one, would love to have my stallion advertised in a major Arabian magazine or newspaper (World, Times, News, etc.). However, the cost has always swayed me. So, I had an idea...What if some of the stallion owners of the AHSBA were to get together and do a one-page color ad with several of the AHSBA stallions presented?

Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions, or critcisims? With several of us, the cost would be approachable, and it would be good advertisement for AHSBA as well .

Okay, here's what I have so far

Arabian Horse Times: Premium color (includes background color) $750 including one photo, each additional photo is $25 each.
Standard color (no background color) $650 and same as above
They design the ad for you....(you have to call for prices so I don't have a link for this)

Arabian News: It doesn't list AHSBA as an affiliated club, but we are part of Region 14 (I think) so I'm not sure...much cheaper if we're an affiliated club...

I assume AHT wouldn't consider a collage as one picture?

Is AHN going to look into updating their list of affiliated clubs?

I can ask if they'll accept a collage as one photo, but then it will be difficult to put the information of each stallion with the picture.

AHN is by far the cheapest, esp. if we're considered an affiliated club, but it doesn't garner as much exposure as AHT or AHW. AHT is a little cheaper than AHW, and they will design for you (whereas, if I understood it correctly, you design your own ad for AHW, although they do have templates you can use).

Right now, I'm hoping other stallion owners of AHSBA will see this...Any way I can find out what members own stallions? (I don't have datasource).

I'd like to get alteast five people interested in this idea, but the more the better as far as price goes .

If I had a stallion to promote, I'd jump all over this. Maybe in another year or 2, :-)

I just spoke with someone from the AHA magazine (was Modern Arabian Horse)...We can get a 20% discount with them, leaving the total at $636, unlimited photos and they will design the ad if we want them to. Photos can be emailed, but must be atleast 300 dpi resolution.

I think this is the best deal yet. Angela
