We're not showing anyone, but taking some students (and their parents), who have new horses and will be starting to venture into the show ring, to watch classes.

Anyone here going? smile.gif

I'm at home but I have a few horses there ... It seems that Solid Brass has made it his mission to NOT become a W.P. Performance horse and Heyhallelujah Nite is determined to NOT have to go back to a show career LOL Oh well, I needed a new trail horse and Nite was actually purchased with breeding in mind, so all is not lost. happy.gif

I was up there yesterday afternoon showing a 2 year old colt SHIH...I'd never even watched a class, and I ended up winning with him...that was a surprise smile.gif! lol. It sure was cold there, and does anyone know why the classes ended up going so late? I had been going to support all of my Roper Ranch friends in trail, but the 12:00 classes hadn't started by 3 when I left! I think that they were doing trail at least until 9!...
I might be going up again today for a little bit in the afternoon! Good luck to everyone showing!...keep warm...

I'm not sure about dressage, but there were a lot of SHIH classes yesterday afternoon...the mares had 6 entries, geldings had 11, and stallions had 5 or 6 (I think). I didn't watch any of the HA classes, but I think they were reasonably sized too...

Jen! What a wonderful opportunity! Perhaps you can see if they'd be interested in covering the Nor Cal futurities?

Good luck to everyone at Whittier! I can't believe show season is here already!!!

We won't be heading down until tomorrow, but the weather has been atrocious! Here (4500' elevation, about 35+/- miles away from the Pomona Fairplex) we've had real high winds since last Sunday, rain since Wednesday and snow for the last two days! Now it's raining again. Argh! It's supposed to let up this evening and get a little better tomorrow until evening, when another whopper of a storm is supposed to arrive.

blink.gif Sure glad we didn't have any horses entered!

I'm going to assume maybe one of the reasons for classes running so late might be to accommodate everyone in the covered arena. ? I know they usually run the SH classes under the cover concurrent with MR classes in the Carnation Arena, and when there's rain it's hard to fit them all in the covered ring.

Whittier does not have Dressage, but there are a number of SH classes, and because I don't have the premium in front of me, I couldn't tell you when they are/were.

Good news; well pretty good news that is. Ali Brady says our 1/2 Arab filly Afflair CF, did fairly well in her first show/first class ever biggrin.gif She didn't win it, but I understand she placed third out of maybe 10 or 11 horses. It may not have been a win, but according to Ali, Afflair went around well, only got really rattled once (when she picked up the canter her first direction), that she is being a really good girl, and getting a lot of compliments from people. Heck, at this point, I'm pleased as punch that it doesn't look like I need to make room for another trail horse in my show barn wink.gif
