Welcome to Arabian Breeders Network
Pegasus Park
PEGASUS PARK was born in 1965 with the purchase of MAZAAL #8550 (Alyf x Maazza) from the Kellogg Ranch. Today, PEGASUS PARK continues to breed the Crabbet/Maynesboro/Kellogg (CMK) Arabian and the CMK/cross, focusing on these excellent bloodlines as a basis for the future. With the stellar CMK heritage of performance, disposition, type and style, our horses can perform in many disciplines and be enjoyed by all members of the family. They are true promoters for our Arabian breed.

I find the discussions on the Egyptian Board about 'favorite bloodlines' an interesting contrast to the Polish Breeders Board on this site where there is a fascinating thread on the 'perfect parts' of various horses that would create the 'perfect horse'. Isn't that the aim of most breeders?

Is anyone interested in a similar discussion on the Egyptian board? For instance, if one were looking to improve hip angles and hind end activity within straight Egyptian lines, what bloodlines would you use? What lines are best suited to provide additional neck length? Given the high levels of Nazeer blood in most of our straight Egyptian stock, what Nazeer weakness require the most attention on the part of the breeder? Anyone interested in this type of discussion?

I'd say this was a wonderful idea smile.gif I'll bite biggrin.gif

For length of neck my choice would be the Imtaarif lines. We have 2 Imtaarif children here that are both elegant and leggy, with beautiful long stretchy necks smile.gif

Overall athleticism I like the older Babson lines where you tend to see those great hips and shoulders and overall a horse you want to ride smile.gif

I used to study the pedigrees and every available photo I could get my hands on. But that was decades ago. When the bug re-activated I picked up a Arab Horse mag and Holy Smoley the absolute beauty that graced the page.
I love the neck on MB Mistaz, the fine teacup muzzle of with the flaring nostrils of Imtut, I am having a hard time picking and choosing. If I drop back a generation or two that is because they are more familiar to me. I love the mass and body of the *Sultann bred those horses are brick houses another horse that put mass and over all body is *Ibn Moniet El Nefous. There is a dryness and extreme beauty to be seen in a mare that Tref-Haven owns. Golly I can not remember her name . However she is non-Nazeer and while she is not to be called esquisite she is EXOCTIC! Very Egyptian she has an appeal that goes past mere esquisite she would be called Divine. I am in the mining phase I hope to be able to go out and see some of these treasures.

We have an *Iban Moniet El Nefous granddaugther. She is an absoulute tank!!! She is also one of the sweetest, most trusting horses that I have ever known. We have her bred to our stallion for some refinement.

hey, I'd just like to throw in the comment that it is nice to see people talking about improving the breed rather than just breeding the same faults over and over. I work as a repro tech and I constantly hear people bragging about this or that influential stallion, never paying any attention to the small cannons or whatever fault he has. (sorry I had a long day with a frustrating TB owner and am in vent mode) so kudos to everyone here who is looking to ADD blood to their program rather than breed back to the same stallion/line again...and again. it made me happy to see:) although I do have to admit to being fond of Hadban line...
