My club has a website. I am able to manage calendar dates, adding newsletters, photos etc. The guy who created our site is adding another spcial events and news flash area for me that I can also manage. But I have no idea what we use for space, or anything else about anything basically. I am illiterate when it comes to these things.

Please educate us uninformed, dark agers.

Bandwidth101

FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. It's the concept of moving a file from your storage space to your server so others can look at it. This is one of the basics of HTML, and most people know how to do it, but are confused why items can sometimes be corrupted when transferring. I put this together to try and explain some of the statements I make.

How FTP Works
FTP is actually very basic. There are about a million different FTP programs you can take off the Internet as shareware or purchase, heck even Netscape and Explorer will allow you to take files, often called "downloading." Obviously then, placing a file from your storage space to the server is called "uploading."
My guess if that you have your own FTP program already, but if not, you can download one. They come in freeware and shareware. If you want free, try FTP Explorer or the free (limited) version of WSFTP.

This sounds like a GREAT deal....is this for the domain only?

I have another thing I would like to advertise - my graphic design services. Would that be a sub-domain within my main domain? Please explain.

And how is the billing handled, monthly, quarterly or annually?

Also, are the stat services included in the domain? At this time I use a free service "statcounter.com" to retreive my statistics, which I am happy with overall.

A sub-domain would be YourSite.Arabianbreeders.Net will look and act like a normal web site..

Stats for your site can stay with who ever you choose.. or my server can give you your stats... hope some of this makes sense

Billing... I guess when you pay.. is okay... not planing on a billing process... we just work together I guess...

Looking around at Sub-domain cost... We decided on 5.00 a month for a sub-domain.. that's 60.00 a year...
