Pinto and American Paint horse crosses
The American Paint Horse Association (APHA) is the second largest breed registry in the United States. To be eligible for the registry, a Paint's sire and dam must be registered with either the APHA, The American Quarter Horse Association, or the Jockey Club (the American Thoroughbred registry). Paint Horses must also have a minimum amount of white hair over unpigmented skin.

 American Saddlebred
The Saddlebred is a five-gaited breed. Most Saddlebreds are born with the ability to learn the slow-gait (stepping pace) and the rack—a few can do these gaits naturally.

Thoroughbred
Most Thoroughbreds can trace their ancestry to one of two Arabians (the Godolphin Arabian or the Darley Arabian), or to a stallion of middle-Eastern blood, known as the Byerly Turk. The Thoroughbred breed as we know it today was the result of deliberate crossbreeding in an effort to produce a better racehorse.
