"Our friend Sheila just emailed the following to me. I thought I'd share it, in hopes that some other friends will learn of her battle and will share love and support and encouragement.. and prayers:


I wanted to let everyone know that Jan (owner of Simplyfadulous "Sim") has been diagnosed with Acute myeloid leukemia.

One week ago she was taken into Georgia Medical Center with severe anemia and received 4 pints of blood and extensive tests. She was released to go home on Friday morning and by that afternoon her physician called and told her the news.

She entered Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville Georgia yesterday morning (Monday 10/16/06) and will remain there for 5 to 6 weeks taking chemo treatments.

She is in the advanced stages and was told she only had 3 months if she did not agree to very agressive chemo treatments. With the treatments, her outlook could be quite good.

Please add her to your prayers.

Gosh, that will make one stand up and see clearly how each day counts, and how we should make the most of each and every day. I wish for her a good prognosis, she's got a battle ahead.

I have a friend (past high school classmate and livelong friend) who was just diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer. Sad. She's got a good attitude and is a fighter. She quit smoking about 5 years ago. Not soon enough I guess.

Make the most of each day! Get out and enjoy your time with those wonderful horses!

Nothing but positive, healing, nurturing thoughts and prayers being sent out from here. I have had many, many friends, relatives, etc. diagnosed w/cancer and the largest majority fought it and own. My mom (twice) my dad, my neice, more good friends than I can count. Fight...and WIN, Jan. You GO, girl!
