Hi Everyone,

Not sure where to put this but I would like to find out more detailed info on both my girl's pedigrees. Nyssaa, my older mare, I know has some crabbet, polish and egyptian lines, Her daughter of, course the same through her dam. Her sire is Thee Hombre.

Their registered names are Nyssaa ( reg # 0386803) and TheeHighlandWhirlwind not sure of her reg number off the top of my head. Anyone care to take a stab at this and tell me more. biggrin.gif Percentages maybe or?????

Here's some percentages , I will give a 4% +/- error margin . CMK = CMK and AF ,let's say it's horses though Stud Book 5 . Some of the AF horses are Babson which can also be Egyptian but I've lumped them together in the CMK/AF group . Your Egyptian percentages would change slighlty but less than 1% if you took the Babsons from the CMK/AF group . There are some people who are really good at this I'm just an amateur that's why the big error margin :P

Nyssaa :

Egyptian 44.53125%
CMK/AF 53.125 %
Polish 2.34375 %

TheeHighlandwhirlwind :

Egyptian 42.640625 %
CMK/AF 48.67812 %
Russian 6.25%
Polish 3.125 %

Thank you both. CL, can you clarify for me? I'm drawing a blank here. What does the AF stand for?

Sorry - AF= American Foundation . Most people use Stud Book #5 horses 1-2924 ( Published in 1944 ) as American Foundation horses . This was before most Polish , Egyptian, Russian , Spanish imports . Some of the AF horses are Egyptian and some are Polish most are CMK so it gets really confusing . So on your mares I just lumped together the CMK and AF horses . It gives you a rough idea of what they are . There are people who can really break it down for you and give you strains etc....

Another great resource is the All breed pedigree site . You can buy 1 month and they have a couple tools there that can give you all kinds of information . It's free to add your horses and pictures to the site .

Ahhh ok, so I was having a duh bigemo_harabe_net-01.gif moment. LOL I knew I had seen that somewhere, just for the life of me could not remember what it stood for. Ok, so are the percentage gurus on this site as well? I'm really curious as to what the official breakdown would be on my girls. I do so appreciate you taking the time to give me the breakdown you did. Give me a good idea anyway. But, yea, would love to learn about the strains as well. The filly is pictured in my avatar.
