Ranch Arabians is owned and operated by James and Karen Ernst. They
have both been lifelong horse lovers, having met as teenagers "at the
stable" where they each owned horses. They have maintained their
love of all horses but have owned mostly Arabians. Karen researches the pedigrees of the stallions they breed their mares to. She goes as far back as she can before they make their decision as to whether to breed to a particular stallion. This is coupled with their long experience with horses and looking at the way bloodlines produce. In fact, that is how they became aware of their foundation sire, JS Padronov, who they went to look at as a breeding prospect for one of their mares. JS PADRONOV is by *Padron, the 1982 U.S. National Champion Stallion and 1981 Canadian national Champion Stallion and his dam is the broodmare of significance, Maarlee. His bloodlines are rich in champions, both national and regional. This is a bloodline that also produces its fair share of performance champions as well as halter champions and Padronov has taken the bloodline in a new direction, The Sport Horse Arena. Padronov is a proven sire of Arabian and Half-Arabian Sporthorses. His daughter Aurora MR+// is the 2005 USDF Young Rider Horse of the Year and his son Phaethon MR+/ is a multi champion Dressage horse, Sporthorse in hand and under saddle. His daughter, Amira Padronov MR is the 1999 AHANC Reserve Champion Arabian Sporthorse Mare. He sired both the 2002 DAHA Champion Purebred Sporthorse Gelding and Reserve Champion Half-Arabian Sporthorse Gelding who was also the 2000 Nor-Cal Futurity Champion Half-Arabian Gelding, His son, Zeus MR is a 2006 Region 3 Top Five Sport in hand Stallions (3rd place) in a class of National Top Ten Stallions. Padronov has also sired Champion Western and English horses. Mystic Ranch's primary goal is to produce quality (foals that every breeder can be proud of), type, solid foundation and disposition. Their Padronov foals are evidence that the Ernst's breeding program is right on target and now that JS Padronov is retired from breeding his son, Zeus MR has been chosen to carry the breeding program to the next level. |
